Title: Ada and the graphical kernel system
Author: Wessman, Richard R.
Abstract: Since the introduction of the standard language in 1983, Ada has been the subject of controversy about its capabilities and its desirability. Proponents have claimed that Ada may be the ultimate computer language because it is a high-level, structured language that may be used in applications ranging from controlling jet fighters to business. Detractors have argued that Ada's very versatility may be its undoing because it can do many things but not as well as more specialized languages. This thesis attempts to evaluate the capabilities and suitability of Ada for large projects by using it to implement the Graphical Kernel System.
