Title: School psychologists' attitudes toward grade retention

Abstract: A national survey of the attitudes of school psychologists regarding grade retention were investigated in this study. An attitudinal survey was sent to 500 members of the National Association of School Psychologists; the response rate was 49%. The results of the study showed that school psychologists tend to believe that retention is a harmful practice.
