Title: Techno-Whimsy
Author: Dodds, Liz
Abstract: N/AThis thesis exhibition explores a whimsical meeting of biology and technology in expressions of acrylic on canvas paintings. Using imagery of fanciful creatures that resemble micro-organisms that have "evolved" with man-made mechanical or electrical parts, the artist has created pictorial microcosms that reveal our current surroundings filled with technology, machines, and scientific research that continually attempts to fuse living organisms with man-made parts.
