dc.description.abstract Inspired by the Romantic Movement, many artists have studied 'selfexploration' as I am doing now. Being uprooted from home and moving to a completely different culture can really influence a person. I am lucky to be exposed to a different culture and this leads me to examine myself in a different light. Who am I really and what makes me unique? In this thesis, I explore the concept of my work, 'Absent', its development, characteristics and the themes of the movements which influenced me. en_US
