Title: Workflow management through Cobalt
Author: Angulo, David; Bone, Matthew; Grubbs, Christopher; von Laszewski, Gregor
Abstract: Workflow management is an important part of scientific experiments. A common pattern that scientists are using is based on repetitive job execution on a variety of different systems, and managing such job execution is necessary for large-scale scientific workflows. The workflow system should also be client-based and able to handle multiple security contexts to allow researchers to take advantage of a diverse array of systems. We have developed, based on the Java Commodity Grid Kit (CoG Kit), a sophisticated and extensible workflow system that seamlessly integrates with the queueing system Cobalt through the advanced features provided by the CoG Kit.

  • International Workshop on Grid Computing Environments--Open Access (2006)
The purpose of this Workshop is to bring together the community to discuss and foster the exchange of ideas for the development of tools, methodologies and frameworks to build Grid computing environments. Last year’s conference at SC05 focussed on tools for Grid Portals. This years conference will broaden the discussion to also include efforts of other tools that make the development and use of Grids more easily accessible from the desktop.
